Italian refresher course – Rome
The AIIC Italia & CRIC organised an engaging 3-day Italian refresher course in Rome from 26 –28 January, covering such varied topics as politics, economics, migration, religion and art in Italy and abroad, with a dynamic and informative panel of speakers.
More than 170 members attended the PRIMS Interregional meeting in London on 12-13 January. A packed welcome event at the historic George Inn featured a presentation on the state of the art of the MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Conference and Events) industry by Rob Davidson. The meeting, at the International Maritime Organization –which generously provided the venue – covered a range of topics: the historical context and implications of Brexit; updates from regional bureaux; a report from CACL, on trends in membership; the role of consultant interpreters; and a full day session on remote interpreting – including hands-on sessions using a range of RSI platforms. A surprise extra was a screening of the short film Chuchotage at the end of the first day. (All photos courtesy of AIIC PRIMS and participants)
